Mormonism and Eternal Truth

Truth is not only
violated by falsehood;
it may be equally
outraged by silence.
(Henri-Frederic Amiel)

Although Christian denominations may differ in their strategies, they follow only the teachings of the Bible. Consequently, their members would feel quite at ease worshipping with denominations other than their own.

On the other hand, cults follow the exclusive teachings of a specific man (or woman). And they each interpret the Bible in the light of their own prophet or leader’s revelations. Consequently their beliefs differ from those of Christian denominations, as well as from those of other cults. So they wouldn’t feel at home in a Christian church. Nor would they feel at ease worshipping with another cult.

Christian denominations all agree on the basic biblical doctrines on God, Christ, creation, man, the gospel and salvation. But the LDS’s basic doctrines have their origins in the revelations of their prophet, Joseph Smith. And they contradict those of the Bible. So they don’t fall into the category of a Christian denomination.
